Domain Dahlem
Since 1976, Domäne Dahlem has been a genuine institution in the heart of Berlin as an open-air museum for agricultural and food culture with an ecological focus. On the former Mark Brandenburg manor, whose historic land has been used for agriculture for more than 800 years, the estate, museum, farm store, country inn and old crafts complement each other with exhibitions, guided tours and workshops. After winning the competition, Visionaere created the new corporate design and the new online presence of the charitable foundation.

Logo and corporate design
Diversity unites
in one strong brand
The Domäne Dahlem combines many functions that had to be reduced to a visual denominator. The new logo with the D crossed by stylized furrows forms the basis of the new corporate design. It stands for the diverse Domäne Dahlem experience and at the same time represents the estate in the middle of the city.
The distinctive logo carries the brand across all media and is also particularly suitable for DIY applications. The core graphic idea is consistently continued in the stencil font, color scheme, icons and imagery. The focus is always on sensory experience and learning. The broad color palette and the chosen font family are suitable for covering topics ranging from nature to culture.

Derived from historical templates, an icon system was developed that makes the diverse offerings of the Dahlem Domain intuitively comprehensible. The illustration style is stencil-like, has a subtle stamp texture and combines modernity with a certain vintage charm.



Print applications
Discover

The design system is also used consistently in print applications. Color-coded versions of the logo are used for business communication by the Foundation, Veranstaltungs GmbH and Förderverein functional units, e.g. on business cards. Flyers and posters inform the general public about events and exhibitions at the Domäne Dahlem.

Close-to-nature experience
on all devices
The website, which is based on WordPress, offers interested parties all the important information about the visit and makes it possible to experience the atmosphere on site digitally. Workshops, guided tours, educational offers for school classes and many other offers can be booked directly online thanks to the integration of a ticketing system.

on the social web
Strong recognition in social media was a declared aim of the new design. For this purpose, a social media construction kit with design specifications for various formats was developed. The resulting mix of branded content and authentic image material has a sympathetic and emotional effect. The result: growing popularity among followers.
